MORAIRA lies in a bay, on the South Eastern coast
of Spain and is best described as the Jewel of the Costa Blanca. Its
roots are from a small fishing village and the town has pleasantly
grown to an attractive holiday and retirement resort retaining its
considerable charm that attracts visitors from all over Europe. It is
totally alien to the built up image of the Costas and it still retains
a level of tranquillity.

It has an impressive marina, excellent
variety of local shops, weekly open markets, harbour-side fish
restaurants and bars still retaining their Spanish character and
offering amazing value for money. There are 3 blue flag clean sandy
beaches as well as rocky diving coves.

The beaches are swept daily and
the water is calm and shallow making it ideal for young tots. The main
beach is next to the town centre with convenient walkways and
parkland. The central market square with its evening stalls are
surrounded by a mix of quaint cobbled narrow streets. There is an open
air market on Fridays (wonderful fresh produce) and a daily fish
market. Street fiestas and fireworks abound in the summer.
There are also some larger resorts nearby that
are easily reached by car that are well worth visiting: Javea, Calpe,
Altea and Denia where a ferry service operates to the Balearics.
Within half an hours drive are the theme and water parks at Benidorm,
such as Terra Mitica (similar to Disneyworld), Aqualandia (water park)
